I think my point remains, you'll gain a backup camera for a good lens collection and the only thing you'll lose is money and a very small camera if needed.

Excellent reference to a great movie.

What are your thoughts?

Trading an X100V impecable condition + $500 cash for a XPro3 mint condition with the the 23mm F1.4 LM (newer model)

thoughts?

I think it is fair. Or at least close enough if you look beyond the crazy inflated price of used X100V's almost everywhere.

The new 23/1.4 WR LM is a notch (or two) up in term of performance and IQ. And the body of Xpro3 is definitely an upgrade to the X100V in term of built, size, quality, tactility and ergonomic especially if you like to use VF to frame. You gain access to the XF mount which is a huge deal to people who need to use different lenses.

The only concern now is whether you are okay with the Xpro3's potential screen issue.

Have you considered XT5?

I know XT5 is not RF style and no OVF and not as sexy . I too love RF style bodies and have been exclusively using RF and RF style cameras after owning Xpro3 . But the gains on the XT5 is just substantial (besides of lacking of the potential screen issue on Xpro3).

After using X-pro3 ( which I really liked) for a little more than a year and a half, I moved to the real digital RF. I then realized that the OVF on the Xpro3 actually doesn't offer too much of practical advantage over the EVF in AF or MF shooting. It is a fancy, and differentiating feature in the competition for sure. I now wish Fuji would drop the OVF and give the X-Pro line the best EVF it can make in the future.

If it was me, I would just sell the X100V at a good price ( when the demand of this camera is still very high) and get the XT5 for all the tech/spec upgrades and a proper photo centric screen. IF RF fuji body is the goal, I would hold on to the X100V and wait for X-Pro 4 assuming that it's not urgent to get the 23/1.4 WR LM lens

I've spent so much time on John Wayne re-runs since COVID I did have to look up the movie.  I could see the scenes (in all of them!) but wasn't sure of the name.

I think you're edging towards the Xpro 3 by considering the trade.

TBH I sold on my X100V - controversial I know as everyone eulogies about the camera, but it didn't do it for me if I'm honest.

The Xpro 3 is a very cool camera so go with your gut!

Looking at your gear list you'll end up with a more versatile and rounded setup unless you truly value the size difference. The overall cost seems more or less fair.

Dude, I forgot to update my gear. I’ve sold so much and traded that the entire list was in not accurate. I made the changes now so you can see what I do actually have

Selling an x100v now is the best thing a guy can do, but looking at your gear list I think you needn't because you just have an x-t. You can save your money keeping a little camera for light travels/sessions. X-pro3 wouldn't add anything, x100v adds a useful little alternative for street. You can use that money for a new lens.

I also had an x100v. Lasted a month. Didn’t like it , couldn’t gel  with it. Go for the x pro.
