Re: Show Your Snaps...December 12, 2022

I'm not familiar with that custom.  I think it's easier if someone just says something like "C&C please".  Did you have some photos that you wanted people's opinions on?  I have found that critiquing photos is very subjective, so I don't often do it unless asked.  And I know it would be just my opinion, which could be very different than someone else.

Re: Cold and frosty.

Nice shots, especially the 4th one. Good separation between foreground and background.

C&C or * , doesn’t matter. Some people ask for the criticism, some dislike it. (me)

My suggestion was to give them that choice, in my experience the thread is more interesting then and esp. beginners can learn from it.

Completely up to you, your comments are great, anyway.

That does look warm.  Where was that taken?  It doesn't look like anyplace I've seen in California.  I was at an Oregon beach last month and the temperatures were in the 50's.  So it was nice and comfortable, but people were wearing coats.  In the valleys next week we may get snow.

Re: Hot And Steamy

Hi MyReality,

For late October that does look good. Better than my 'Cold and Frosty'.

Remembering Sunlight

Re: Remembering Sunlight

That's an interesting photograph.  Are some of those blocks pieces of old building construction materials?  How does it signify remembering sunlight?

Re: Remembering Sunlight

Nah, nothing special... just some old pavers that I l-a-b-o-r-i-o-u-s-l-y laid around two sides of our hose when we first moved in, a border for flowers. Recently removed them and now they're stacked way out back.

My lower back and I are no longer fond of those bricks.

That shot looks a lot sunnier on my monitor. We haven't had much sun lately so it kind of caught my eye.

Re: Remembering Sunlight

We had some sun yesterday.  I like taking pictures on those sunny  days near the shortest day of the year, because the shadows are long.  Other than that, it's been cloudy and cold with little rain.

Thanks for letting us know about those bricks.  Yes, they can be hard on the back.
