Pix for the Week Ending December 8th to 10th, 2022
1

Hello Sigma Shooters:

2022 is winding down fast and winter weather is already here in Denver. Time for our weekly show and tell about images taken with Sigma cameras and lenses. Remember the drill, you can enter up to 3 images and it would be helpful if you give you post a title so that comment will be directed properly.

Now go out and shoot some pix and have fun. Members in the northern hemisphere try to stay warm!

Wet apples
3

Picked when the rain eased off for a bit.

The variety is Wagener, a late apple ready for picking in late November and early December. Good flavour and recommended if you're planting any apple trees.

The hole in the left hand one was made by a Blackbird. Squirrels also like to have a nibble.

A walk with the hound on a frosty morning

I think I must have focused on the colourful leaves in the foreground

And here is the lad himself loving the cold snap.

Grand Rapids mi, park

I just got my sigma dp1m a week ago, but stopped at crahen valley park on my way to work for this pano.

There was an epic sunrise that morning, but it was 30-40 degrees to the right of this and mostly blocked by trees.

… Buttons: As you say, very muted, authentic colours. Very much the Foveon zone. An MSS (mainstream sensor) would render such skies more simply… more “sweetened”.

… And, love the third one. The people on the right are such strong, clear subjects in a bold composition and creative colouring.

in the backyard

These first two are not really focus stacks. I just took a few shots, focusing on different depths.

Ground level

Rose and bud

And another 'hidden colors' shot (a single image, where I fiddle with the light and color)

Smokin' hot

Archive image from the Backyard

A pix from the archive takes in 2009 using the SD14 and the 150-500 mm OS lens. A hand held shot in my backyard. The squirrel froze while watching me and I grabbed this shot before he started moving and scratching.

Enjoy!

… Love such early morning images, balancing the early natural light with the artificial light- five minutes either way changing the relationship…
