Are old P&S digitals increasing in price on the used market?
1

While perusing the big auction site I noticed that the Canon Powershot A630 "sold" listings were going for between $70-$150. Is there a demand for certain older point & shoot digital cameras now?

With film P&S cameras it was a popular fashion photographer using a Yashica T4 that jump-started the price increase. What am I missing with the Canon A630 price increase?

Canon PowerShot A630

OK, but the tiktok users seem to like the smaller, cuter digicams.

A little while back I posted here that I believed the prices of used and still in stock P&S digital cameras would increase in value as new models are not being introduced. Yes, the prices for the more popular digicams have increased and I believe will so more in the future. Film cameras are a prime example. I also wouldn't be surprised to see some popular models to go back into production if the demand outstrips the supply. Case in point, the Leica M6. I know it's a film camera, but it's increased demand has made it profitable for Leica to reintroduce the popular model again.  Cell phones may never achieve the utility of a "real" camera.

Good point. The classic Leica M6 is the perfect “comeback” camera.
Which camera model would be the perfect “comeback” digital camera? That’s a tough one to answer, but I would want a compact with an EVF or OVF with a larger than 1” sensor.

Maybe a Canon A630/640 with RAW and an aps-c sensor. Ha-ha.

One can always dream of 25 year anniversary Powershot G1 special edition.

Nikon D40? (noting I am in the camp of the enemy :-o)
Prices on used digital cameras in Australia seem to have gone nuts.
