It's nice to see your countryside and leaves. You sure are having cold weather with lots of frost. You might want to buy a lens hood instead of a cap. I purchased mine on Ebay. All my lenses have hoods.

Yeah it really is cold. In a minute I've got to attend to the tiresome task of melting a whole through the ice over the pond...

Lens hoods are good, but they don't replace lens caps IMO.

Re: Wood ducks and Mandarins.

Hi Digirame, Thank You.

The photo was taken a few years ago in March, it was the first time I ever got close to one, usually they are so timid they move off well before you're anywhere near them. I managed to capture the colourful feathers on its back and tail.

Shortly after the shot he waddled into the water and disappeared.

Hi Dunlin,

Lovely set of winter photos, nothing like some frost to bring out the creativity in us.

Love the sunset as well.

Happy Holidays!  That's a nice festive picture.

Or considering skiing at Mammoth.  They have gotten recently many feet of snow.

Here's Mammoth Mountain that I saw last summer.

The Pumpkins of October...

...are squirrel chow in December.

(PS: Don't store critter food in a vinyl shed.)

Looks like spaghetti squash when they're done with it.

Oh yeah...squirrels can be voracious.  They can tear up anything that is soft enough.
