750D with 18-135

Hi

I can have a used 750D with the 18-135 stm in my area for 350 euros

I'm looking for a simple and good camera , 750d seems fine , but mostly for the 18-135 as a single travel lens . Landscapes, street, etc..

Is that a good combo ?

I'm Oly user so no experience at all with Canon

I have read just about every review of the 750D , so not looking for technical specs, rahter simple users' experiences .

Thanks

108,

The 750D is probably a good introduction to the world of Canon, and the 18-135 lens (if in good condition) would make this a good value for the money, I think.

Re: 750D with 18-135

I have not owned the T6i but did have the 18-135 STM.  Very nice lens, at least my copy was, I also had the newer 18-135 NanoUSM and while I could not tell any difference in the IQ from the two lenses, the AF was a bit faster for the USM version so I ended up keeping that and selling the STM version.

I used the STM version for T&F as well as cross country photos and was completely happy with the images.  Initially used the 7D and then the 7DII.

My thoughts...

Sounds good.

Several persons here are very happy with the 18-135mm USM, though I'm sure the STM version is very similar.

May I ask why you're looking at Canon? Both your Olympus bodies are very capable.

Hi

I'm trying to solve the ONE and only lens travel/holidays problem

I am unstatisfied with my pana 14-140 ( my third ...)

The 12-100 f4 is too big , and for more than half the price I can get that 750D with 18-135

The 18-135 has long interested me , some of my m4/3 colleagues say it's almost as good as the 12-100 . The focal range is for me ideal . At only 350 euros the combo would be just fine for very occasional ( maybe twice a year ) short holidays ( about  a week , air travel ) with no real fear of losing the gear or breaking it. For photography at home I have good m4/3 zooms and primes .

If I had the means I would go for a fuji body and the Fuji 18-135 , another lens I find excellent .

108,

Be careful. Once you taste a Canon, you'll never go back!

Re: 750D with 18-135

I'm using currently a Canon T7i (800D) camera with the Canon 18-135mm USM lens. I bought the lens on Ebay for less than $150 (USD). I've been very happy with it. The lens stays on the camera all of the time.

Here's some recent photos I posted (Halloween exhibit). Even though I have four other Canon cameras with attached lenses, the camera with the Canon 18-135mm lens is often my first choice, especially for events.

I take them as in-camera JPEGS and post process with inexpensive software. So basically what you see is what you get.

Here's some more when I was on vacation.

Re: 750D with 18-135

Just to let you know.... About 10 years ago, when I switched from Olympus using E-500 and E-510 DSLR cameras, I found the Canon in-camera JPEGS and colors very similar. I was happy to switch. I went from my Olympus 8mp & 10mp cameras to a Canon 18mp camera. After that I bought many more Canon cameras and lenses.

Thats exactly why I'm selling my GF6 twin lens kit. Completely sick of swapping lenses. I had a 650D with the 18-135 STM lens and it was a cracker. Just bought a 700D and will be pairing that with the Canon 18-200 or the Tamron 18-270 depending on what I can find on the used lens market. Your 750D will be every bit as good as your Oly, especially if you pair it with good glass and the 18-135 STM or USM are both good lenses.
