Nikon D800 or D800E in housing

Anyone experience of using a Nikon D800 or D800E underwater?

Any notable issues or quirks?

Thanks

Craig is here and will likely get back to you in the next day- he's used at least an 810 and an 850.

It's a giant housed SLR and all that this entails, and the normal concerns about high resolution applies - you may need faster shutter speeds than the 1/focal length suggestion.

Key is can you get a good deal on a housing for it.    Probably shouldn't be paying msrp when the body itself is no longer current or for sale.

I have a D800e, but never took it underwater.  I did use a D810 underwater for 4 years, in a Nauticam housing.

What is it you want to know?   The D800e is basically the same sensor in a lesser-spec'd body, but most of the differences shouldn't matter.

The D810 goes down to ISO 64 while the D800/e is native at ISO 100.  When I'm shooting underwater macro with strobes, I generally try to keep the camera at base ISO in order to maximize dynamic range.  It's the one place the D800 comes in a bit short of the D810 underwater.

No quirks, but certainly notable issues, mainly size.   Do you have any idea how big these rigs end up when doing wide angle?  230mm dome ports are significant in many ways, but unfortunately a lot of those are above water during transportation.
