My impressions - R6 ii + 24-105 F4L, upgrading from 7D

Hi! here are my quick impressions. Upgrading from a 10-year old 7D Mk 1.
- Body feels super solid. Way smaller than my 7D, but still comfortable to hold, controls are great.
- The EVF blew my mind - I was expecting it to be WAY worse than the optical viewfinder on my 7D, but wow, it's just fantastic! Super bright, big, clear, and the resolution is great (I can just barely see pixels at all). Still, I find myself mostly shooting with the flip-out display on the camera, not the EVF. Need to use both more to see what the pros and cons are of the EVF. That said the EVF doesn't feel like much of a downgrade at all from the optical viewfinder - on the contrary seems like they can do a lot more with the display in it (in addition to it being a viewfinder).
- The three dials are really nice. The 4-way "nub" controller is the only one I find a bit hard to use, but thankfully it's not really used to adjust shooting settings. You can use the three dials to traverse the menus too.
- "Q" menu from my 7D is still a thing, looks like! I always found that to be intuitive and quick to use, and glad to see they are still doing that style of UI.
- RAW shooting: My usual software doesn't support the RAW images from the R6 ii yet, so I downloaded Canon's DPP. WOW is that software awful! Terrible UI, super super slow! Just really painful to use. I then downloaded the trial version of DXO PhotoLab, but it doesn't support it yet either. What RAW software are folks using for now?
- 24-105 F4L: Really nice, but heavy. Camera still feels nice to hold in the hand with that lens though, a testament to how good the grip is on the smaller body. I might try to get a different lighter weight lens though. 24-240? Not sure if it's lighter, need to check the specs.
Overall very happy with my purchase and look forward to shooting more photos with it!
