Just bought back up 1 on eBay for $155.

it’s gone as new & as refurbished on Canon.com, B&H, Amazon & Adorama

Not available as used on KEH!

only available as an “almost gone” on eBay, or for $226 on BB.

MPB has always done me right and it has been for years now.

That a good option for used. Thank you.
for new and refurbished it still looks like it’s basically gone.

I am soo glad I got it with my M6 mk II.

It should make a comeback with R100 when it arrives.

Probably different variation that won’t fit the M series I believe.

Good point, for those who want the EVF this is a consideration.

Keep in mind that the older EVF-DC1 also works with the M6ii. Its more 'squarish' and looks less funky than the EVF-DC2, plus it tilts up to 90 degrees, so works well on a tripod or telescope (but the rear screen also tilts for those uses). The DC1 is not as contrasty as the DC2, but interestingly it shows more shadow detail.

The DC1 is generally cheaper than the DC2, you can often find it used for $100 - $130.

My only complaint is that the DC1 does not 'lock' into the horizontal position, it tends to float upwards when taking it in and out of the camera bag, and for that reason I prefer the DC2 most of the time.

I got a barely-used EVF-DC2 on eBay for $99 yesterday, to go with the refurb M6 II that I ordered yesterday as well.  Seemed “good enough” for my back-up camera.

I considered the new one for $155 that a seller offered on eBay, but passed on it because it was more expensive, and the seller was in Hong Kong.

Why, when it could be "reborn" as a new and somehow slightly improved EVF DCR?

Reborn  for a new and greatly improved (for Canon) R-level price, of course.

That was a great resource when I got my “first” M6 II a while back, and I re-read it again recently to refresh my thinking.  I recommend that action to others as well.  There is always something more to be learned.

Today I received the used EVF-DC2 I mentioned above.  Very satisfied - it was like new.  Meanwhile I am still awaiting the refurb M6 II that I ordered from Canon at the same time as my back-up M6 II body.

Re: EVF DC2 GONE. Grab it if you can.

Hi,

Drop me a PM if you want to buy an used but in excellcent condition DC2.  I have one in pristine condition that came with my EOS M6.2 ; I'm in the US.

Selling because I bought the older DC1 since you can articulate it, but I do agree with others who say it "flips up" too easily -- I'm thinking of putting a tiny bit of velcro or maybe a small magnet on mine.
