Question regarding post processing .cr3 raw images from Canon EOS M6 Mark II using DXO and Topaz
1

Not really sure where to post this. But since the problem happens while I tried to post process using the .cr3 raw file from my M6 Mark II (only tried the following with M6 Mark II), I will try my luck here.

Would like to ask if anyone encountered problem between DXO Photolab and Topaz for .dng file before?

In my test, the .dng file from Topaz Photo AI v1.0.10 can be open by DXO Photolab, but the .dng file from (Topaz Photo AI, Gigapixel AI, Sharpen AI, DeNoise AI) cannot be open by DXO Photolab (really confuse with this).

I will illustrate what I encountered below:

I was trying to post process .cr3 raw file using the latest DxO PhotoLab Elite Version 6.0.1 and topaz (Topaz Photo AI, Gigapixel AI, Sharpen AI, DeNoise AI)

All my Topaz software's version are also the latest:
Topaz Photo AI v1.0.10
Gigapixel AI v6.2.2
Sharpen AI v4.1.0
DeNoise AI v3.7.0

Here are the steps I did:
1) Opened the .cr3 raw file with DXO Photolab 6
2) Select DxO ClearView Plus (using the default settings)
3) Select DeepPRIME XD (using the default settings)
4) Export to disk in .dng file
5) I loaded in the .dng file created using DxO PhotoLab into Topaz Photo AI v1.0.10 and upscale it to 2x (for some unknown reason Topaz Photo AI keep crashing if I try to upscale 4x or higher )
6) Next, I clicked "save image" in .dng format
7) When I open this .dng file created by Topaz Photo AI v1.0.10 in DXO Photolab again, DXO Photolab is able to open it.

However, if I try to open the .dng file genereated by either the Gigapixel AI v6.2.2, Sharpen AI v4.1.0, or DeNoise AI v3.7.0 in DxO PhotoLab, I will get this message "Cannot load image data" in DxO PhotoLab.

This are the step I performed:

1) Opened the .cr3 raw file with DXO Photolab 6
2) Select DxO ClearView Plus (using the default settings)
3) Select DeepPRIME XD (using the default settings)
4) Export to disk in .dng file

Here is the part where I am unsure if it is normal behavour or incompactibility between DXO Photo Lab and the 3 Topaz applications:
5) I applied DeNoise AI v3.7.0 on the .dng file created using DxO PhotoLab and saved the DeNoise image in .dng format.
6) When I try to open the DeNoise.dng file created by Topaz Photo AI v1.0.10 in DXO Photolab again, DXO Photolab is unable to open it and have the message "Cannot load image data".
7) I applied Sharpen AI v4.1.0 on the .dng file created using DeNoise AI v3.7.0 and saved the sharpened image in .dng format.
8) When I try to open the sharpened .dng file created by Sharpen AI v4.1.0 in DXO Photolab again, DXO Photolab is unable to open it and have the message "Cannot load image data".
9) I applied Gigapixel AI v6.2.2 on the .dng file created using Sharpen AI v4.1.0 and saved the enlarged 2x image in .dng format.
10) When I try to open the enlarged 2x image .dng file created by Gigapixel AI v6.2.2 in DXO Photolab again, DXO Photolab is unable to open it and have the message "Cannot load image data".

Similarly, If I tried to open the .dng file genereated by either the Gigapixel AI v6.2.2, Sharpen AI v4.1.0, or DeNoise AI v3.7.0 in DxO PhotoLab individually, I will get this message "Cannot load image data" in DxO PhotoLab.

Thank you.

Hi, I saw that there is a "Retouching Forum". Decided to move the post there instead. Anyone know how to delete this post? Thanks.

Not after a longer delay than 5 minutes. And you can't even edit it after you've replied to it. You could ask the moderator to remove this whole thread.
