Upload AVI files to Chromebook?

Hello everyone-first post! Working on opening an artisan jewelry shop on Etsy,; have successfully taught myself the absolute basics usng an older PowerShotS3 and a (Asus) Chromebook.  Stocking my shop w.some very cool pix so far, using a homemade light box and a high-end  tripod.  Just shot my first short movie w. success, but don't know how to upload  file to Chromebook.  Does show up when linked to the the Etsy download window  (when Canon is plugged in) as a "MLV 2505 AVI" icon , but does not open.  Does not appear in my normal still shot files as having been uploaded.  In beginning research, looks like an extension to Chromebook may be needed, idk??  I see a lot of info on uploading from phones, or from the internet, but nothing so far from a digital camera.  Thanks in advance.

Re: Upload AVI files to Chromebook?

Hola Liz,

I can't really help much, but as it's been three days, I'll have a go.

Have you tried downloading (from the memory card) the AV1 file to the chromebook first, before trying to upload it to etsy?

My other thought is, perhaps Etsy doesn't support .AV1 files. As far as I know, AV1 is an uncompressed file format (I have a motion-camera that generates .AV1 files). Perhaps Etsy only accepts smaller compressed formats for storage space reasons?
