Bluetooth pairing with xiaomi redmi 9

Hello. I ve been trying to use my smartphone as a remote, i used the app but couldnt connect. Is it possible that xiaomi redmi 9 is not compatible with eos M50? Still wifi works fine, Bluetooth connection settings/   check/clear connection settings is inactive on the M50s screen. Any ideas? Thank you

Re: Bluetooth pairing with xiaomi redmi 9

I have never own M50, so it's not likely I know the answer, make sure both the firmware of M50 (make sure it's not M50 mark II)

https://www.usa.canon.com/support/canon-product-advisories/firmware-notice-eos-m50-firmware-version-1-1-0

and the canon app is the newest supported by your android device, once updated give it another try and search youtube or check with canon....

Re: Bluetooth pairing with xiaomi redmi 9

1. Clear Bluetooth pairing on both phone and camera.

2. Go to camera Bluetooth settings and select pairing.

3. Turn on Bluetooth then open Canon app on phone.

4. Follow the on screen instruction to finish pairing.

Re: Bluetooth pairing with xiaomi redmi 9

If the clear option is greyed out, that mean there is no pairing info stored.

Proceeded to reset phone Bluetooth pairing setting.

Re: Bluetooth pairing with xiaomi redmi 9

Did you connect your M50 with another device before ?
If so, that might be the issue here.
If your M50 is like my M6ii, the camera's Bluetooth is limited of connecting with just one device.
The trick is to create a new connection or clear your wifi/bluetooth settings.
Then try to connect by following the on screen instructions via Bluetooth.
*Don't* attempt to connect via Bluetooth manually, Canon implementation is a bit different but after you manage to connect for the first time, next time it will seamless,  as simple as opening the Canon App from your phone and you'll be connected as long as you use the same device.
