Vlogging on a S9 Camera (on a stand) but it keeps moving the frame sidewards a little

Hi there

I'm recording my daughter talking for her YouTube channel (which has really taken off in just two weeks!). My Samsung S9 phone is on a solid stand recording her a few feet away in front of a green screen. For most of her videos she has a small easel at her side with the letter of the day on a white card (Its a learn phonics site).

See here if unclear: Miss Phonics YouTube

We have a problem though that as we're recording, the frame moves sidewards at certain points - It's like the camera moves from what its pointing at to a slightly different place. This is almost always when she is moving her hands to show an object, or opening her 'Magic Box'.

We have now had to scrap some takes numerous times as it looks awful when she and the easel suddenly drift right and/or up. We have wasted SO much time and still haven't managed a 'good take' for many videos

On the S9 you can tap the screen and lock the AF and AE (which we do now) but still it drifts.

Just to clarify - the phone is NOT moving! It is mounted solidly on a proper 3 legged camera stand.

There must be SOME way of setting up the camera to stop the frame moving to a slightly new position when recording. Please help.

This sounds like you have an issue with video stabilization. Optical image stabilization tends to move theimage slightly during filming, and you should be able to disable "video stabilization" in the camera preferences. According to https://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s9-review-1734p8.php this will only affect digital video stabilization, as the optical one is always on, but maybe this will already solve the problem?
