Re: Not on top of my…

Sharp shots and I`m not surprised - these older canons (especially the SX50) are better than the later stuff with more pixels and overloaded zoom ranges)

I liked my SX220 - ran it with the Russian hack software to shoot RAW which when developed in Capture one gave it a nice boost detail wise and showed how good the lens was - the older SX210 was great too but with weird ergonomics , I thought the SX700 I had later was a big retrograde step in IQ and sold it .

Look at the detail in these - 100% Crops in RAW from the 210, in good light, better than a Panasonic TZ100 I tried in RAW

Thank you Adam!

I always follow your posts;) indeed very sharp images from the SX210 as well;) I had the SX260 , but the lens was not sharp as the sx220, so it was sold. Im aware of the hack, but I can’t  be bother with it;) I still have an old A 720IS and the lens is superb. You can’t beat the convenience of this tiny cams, I always walk out my house with one in my pocket;)

Now if I can only find a good deal on the sx50 is ;)…

yeah the A720IS was a classic as was the A650IS ,which was basically a G9 in far more practical form but sadly without RAW - funny how things went down hill the SX700 wasn`t as good as an I-phone 6S even - lens or processing wise - the SX210/220 are definitely better than that phone let alone the SX700

Now if I can only find a good deal on the sx50 is ;)…

Amazed how this still stands up - looks even better today in modern RAW converters, again the SX60 and 70 were a step back let alone those from other makers

I got my mint condition SX50 for £108 to the door from a dealer with 12m warranty . I can`t think of a better buy in any camera than that .. I may get another SX220 , they`re silly cheap now

Thanks Adam,

Yes, as far as I understand, the only main difference between the Sx 210 and Sx 220, is the sensor, CCD14 mp. For the sx210, cmos 12mp. For the sx220, initially I was looking for the sx210, but I got a deal on the Sx220, oh well…I have to say that at the base ISO I might prefer the CCD rendering though, on the other token, the Sx220 is clearly superior in the high ISO department. One  thing to keep in mind,  though, is that the flash pops up everytime you power up the cam., But I got the way around this, simply putting my finger on it to keep it down;)..

I won SX60 in a contest, just found it is to be bit big and slow for my needs.
