Cheap-ish tripod for M6ii

I’m after a tripod (ideally less than $100aud) that would suit a Canon M6ii.

I intend to use it for taking photos of my family 💕

thank you!!!

More than any other accessory, I consider a tripod to be completely personal preference.  We can offer opinions about weight and build quality and value etc, but in the end you need to handle it and try it out.  Otherwise it could very easily become a boat anchor that you cuss at every time you use it.

Happy shopping!

Re: Cheap-ish tripod for M6ii

I have the Sirui Compact Traveler carbon, bought for AUD $161 back in 2021, AUD $176 today. I like it a lot.

Amazon Australia has a bunch of them, including cheap chinese $50 tripods which will or won't work for you.

If you don't intend to backpack with a tripod, aluminium should work just as well, so you may want to look into it.

Edit:

The Sirui Traveler 5A Aluminium Tripod is AUD $136 and worth it in my opinion, small, compact but sturdy.

Right ?

And then to have it happen in front of other people ?

Got into a fight with my tripod right in front of the whole family at the birthday party ?

Check out Rollei C6i, C5i and Rollei Compact Traveler No. 1. All are available as carbon or, cheaper alu versions.

I currently use this one for car travel:

And this one for air travel:

Instead of Arca-Swiss I use Novoflex MC mount and head.

+1 for the Compact Traveler No. 1

It comes in a carbon version which I have and is below 1 kg and fits in a regular messenger bag and sturdy enough for the M system @100€.

There is also a cheaper version in aluminium which is just a little heavyer but same size.

Just make sure you get the current version where the middle column can be fully retracted and isn't fixed.
