USB-charging possible with E-PL9?

I'm thinking about buying a used E-PL9- which has been announced. When I spoke to the seller, he started to talk about this camera being charged by a USB cable. (I understood him that this was an explanation why the camera would not be delivered with a battery charger.)

This surprised me because I didn't believe Olympus hadn't started yet to produce cameras with USB-charging at the time of launching the E-PL9, which I believe was in 2018.

Can somebody please clarify this issue. Thanks!

In the dpreview camera specs it says "USB charging - No"

To add to others, PC Mag also says:

"It does not support charging via USB. Instead Olympus includes a battery charger with a removable AC power cord to replenish the battery."

Seller either did not use the camera themselves and are assuming it is possible (given newer models and many other brands support it) or they are being dishonest to you.

Chargers for the BLS-5 and BLS-50 batteries as used in recent Pen models can be found at either Amazon or ebay, usually made by third parties. Fortunately, none seem to have any problems with chips or whatever, ashave been included in some of the more recent batteries.

The most convenient that I've used is powered by USB, rather from a mains power point - with slots for two batteries, that are then charged concurrently.

However, one camera I purchased (from a shop, not a private owner) came instead with this very clever "multi-charger" gadget...

Here's a direct link for a PDF version of the advertising leaflet for that...

There was once (seems to have been withdrawn now) even a version (the "Hahnel Unipal Extra") that contained a 2200 mAh power bank!

Lots of choices?

Thanks, I've not been aware of that kind of charger.

It could be that the seller is using one of the third party USB chargers, and that is what the seller means by not including a USB cable.
