xh-2 freezing when using Godox
1

Anyone else have problems?  2 seperate shoots camera froze while using 2  flashes, and the trigger.

Froze using 3 godox:

Trigger godox x1-t

flashpoint

v860 II

Anyone have issues using fuji brand flash?  Or Godox? Help!  I love the xh-2 but this is a HUGE problem.

Re: xh-2 freezing when using Godox

I use intensively my Godox 860 II with the XH2s with beautiful results. Only one unit on the body no trigger.

The Godox is well synchronized with ES see my posts just put on the thread right now

Is your Godox firmware up to date?

Re: xh-2 freezing when using Godox

I used a Godox R2ProII and a V1 on a shoot last week with the X-H2 with no problems whatsoever.  Worked flawlessly but I had a backup system just in case.

I have yet to update the XH2 firmware so that along with the difference in Godox products you used and I may have made a difference.

However, I did test my old TT685F on camera and it worked quite nicely.  Good luck

Re: xh-2 freezing when using Godox

As Morris says update the firmware , I had my X2T misbehaving on my XT3 until I updated firmware .
The Godox firmware  installer wouldn’t work on my Windows computer and drove me nuts  so I downloaded the version from the Flashpoint website  and everything went smoothly

I would seriously consider updating your transmitter to the X2T or the Pro as both are much easier to use . Considering the X2T can be purchased for under USD $60 in the US , it’s a cheap investment for less headaches in the long run

The Blutooth function on the X2T which allows you to control the unit from your iPad or phone makes life a lot easier wth multiple flash , screenshot below .
I even got the unit to work with my iPad Pro camera !

Here’s my old stroboframe bracket for my Nikons . in this configuration it worked fine despite being so close .I don’t have a synch cable for the Fuji .

I'm using the X-H2 with a Flashpoint R2 Pro MarkII trigger with great success.  I have speedlight and AD200 and both work fine.  Flashpoint is re-badge Godox sold by Adorama.  Completely interchangeable with Godox.  I suspect your problem might be with the old trigger but that would be odd as the old stuff usually works? Honestly I'd drop a line to FujiFilm and see what they say.

Are you sure it's because of the flash? What cards were you using? There are reports of incompatibilities with sandisk branded media

I am having a similar issue.

Yesterday I cover an 8 hour event with Godox V1 and V350. I udes first the X-H2 on M mode and from time to time, quite often and annoyingly, my camera would freeze when taking the shot. I would have to take the battery out and put it back. My flash was on TTL. I then switched to A mode or S mode, after a while would freeze again. This story was with Godox V1. Then I switched using V350 which would freeze my camera not so often so that I could use it, but still... I tried different batteries and cards, the same, so it looks like the flash was the culprit. Never got the camera freezing before w/o the flash. Any idea? Camera and flashes are on the latest FWs.

Mine worked well at s shoot with the original FW.  Just upgraded the FW 2 days ago.  Haven't yet tested.  Does your H2 have the current firmware?

Do a I did when I got fed up with Godox and there lack of support and multiple firmware bugs related to Fuji.  Change brands of flash!

Re: xh-2 freezing when using Godox

In my opinion, it's likely not the flash. It's the trigger. I have used Godox flashes a gazillion times, and only when triggered is there a freeze. The flash works fine, but I have to turn off ane restart the Godox X-T trigger to get all going again. Another board said to update the Godox trigger firmware, which I gave up on doing after trying many times. For me, the trigger problem has happens regardless of camera, and it happens randomly on both my X-T1 and X-T2. Some days, it never happens, some days it happens 3-4 times over a period of a couple of hours.

Love the flash, but I think I'll try the Fuji trigger.

Re: xh-2 freezing when using Godox

I have Godox X-Pro F for about 6 months (FW 1.3) no issue including with the X-H2 since it got released.

But yesterday my X-H2 went through major freeze issues. At some point I almost had to pull the battery grip after every 3-4 shots.
I'm not 100% sure its the trigger that curses the issue as I had this happen with my X-H2s a lot when not using flash, when I first got it, I concluded back then that it was a mismatch with fast CFexpress and slow V30 cards, since then I use only v90 cards or run CFexpress with no backup.. and It does not freeze anymore.
Yesterday I where running backup, but with v90 card and no burst mode at all.

There is also a slight chance my sony tough SD card is faulty, I will test this the coming weeks.

Re: xh-2 freezing when using Godox

I updated both the camera AND the FLashpoint.

After 4 shots at an event yesterday, the camera froze and continued to do so.  Needed to remove battery to get it working again.

Anyone any problems with Fuji brand flash? May need to purchase that as I love this camera.

Used Flashpoint ( Godox) On camera last night after updating firmware and same issue.  After 4 shots, freezing, then needed to remove battery to get camera working.

Haven't used the trigger and off camera flash for a few weeks but I have used the Godox TT685(F) on camera successfully with not issues.  I know that doesn't solve your issue but I will test your setup with my H2 w/updated firmware and fire off a bunch of shots.

Could you tell me the settings you used so I can try to duplicate them?  Thanks.

Re: xh-2 freezing when using Godox

Based on my experience, it's the trigger that causes the issue, and has happened to me with multiple cameras and multiple flashes. Only solution is to switch to a different brand of trigger. Just my opinion, though many can live with this problem's frustratingly intermittent issue.

Mine froze multiple times with Godox v350 mounted on my camera. Updated firmware on both. Camera was xt-5. It was during the day. I used it that night at a party and it worked all night. My cards are SanDisk Extreme pro 300 mb, listed as approved on the website
