I initially bought a G85 for video (which is largely unlimited runtime), really nice camera, but seemed oddly large and bulky , almost as large as my Nikon DSLRs with much bigger sensors. So then I bought a GF10 (from Japan) which is a GX880 (GX850 slight update). I think it's super nifty and seemingly one of the advantages of MFT. But it doesn't have unlimited video time, nor can it take an external flash. Well then I felt silly having two cameras that didn't quite have everything I wanted, so I bought a GX85 which to me is the closest to perfect compromise for all the things I wanted.
unlimited video time

In Safari on my Mac I have noticed all my text is bolded until I switch to plain text which I have never ever done before, but now have.

Yea, I've noticed that on new posts, too. Dpreview must have done an update that contains some glitch.

But it appears to me that the boldness is just an illusion. I do not have to "un-bold" my comments when saving. And if I make text bold or italic in my posting, they come out that way after pressing the "Post" button.

That's the same as I'm getting with Firefox on a Windows PC...

With my eyesight, it's rather handy!

Did you feel a difference from using (if you do use it) the EVF on the G85 and then the GX85?

And did moving from a fully articulating screen on the G85 to a partially tilting one on the GX85 affect how you record video?

I haven't had overlap time to compare, honestly while I wouldn't call it great, I wouldn't call it bad either.

I haven't really used the articulating screen before. Except for the lack of microphone input I'm very happy with the GX85

I think trying to compare a SLR-style camera to a RF-style camera is not a valid comparison.. Very few RF-style cameras can ever match SLR-style camera for EVF quality and handling. Most people who buy RF-style cameras places value on compactness and discreetness above all else, and willing to sacrifice some of the EVF + handling qualities for this. GX85 can never compare to G85's EVF + handling. It's a question of which you value more, and which you are willing to give up..

True.

I want the compactness and discreetness of the GX85 but also want the high quality EVF and ergonomics of the G85.

The closest I would get to having all of these qualities in one camera would be the GX8 though I would be sacrificing some image quality by giving up the removal of the low pass / AA filter and electromagnetic shutter mechanism on the GX85 and G85.

The Sony A6000 series cameras would have fit this criteria rather nicely but the absence of IBIS for the non-top end models, limited touchscreen interactivity and unintuitive user interface make them lose some appeal in my eyes.
