Tik Tok responsible for driving up X100 prices?(linked story inside)

I periodically check out Fujiaddict.com (more of a news site as opposed to fujirumors) as another source of Fuji info. Was quite interesting to see this story- https://fujiaddict.com/2022/10/31/tiktokers-drive-up-fujifilm-x100-prices-across-the-lineup/

It seems more of anecdotal story, and I know nothing about Tik Tok, but thought it an interesting enough story to post here.

Out of curiosity I took a peek at Amazon. Saw a new 100V for almost $2000 and a refurbished one available for even more at $2400. I know it’s been posted before about how hard the camera is to come by (and other Fuji gear for that matter). I guess now there’s another reason for price increase/supply issues?

Another anecdotal story I remember from last year or the year before was how X-E2 bodies were suddenly in high demand when a youtuber or two started fawning over them.

I was debating on selling mine into the higher demand.

Maybe I'll now be getting a good price on my X100 bodies that I somehow still have.  Free up some funds for the X-H2(S)...

True. They doubled in price to almost £300, whereas the XT10 stayed at the normal price of ~£155.

Over here in Thailand a used X100V costs around 900 US$.

Interesting story though but alas, I'm keeping mine either way.
