Full HD video with M50 II -- focusing?

Does the Canon M50 II allow continuous facial recognition with full HD (1980x1020)?

Some reviews seem to think it's only allowed in "HD mode" and not 4K, but it's not clear if it works with 1980p.  The manual seems to have almost no information on focusing modes in video settings.

Are there any other warts that I need to know about for video?  This is for a friend.  I'm looking to replace a T5i, which is adequate except that it hunts during focusing because it lacks dual pixel focusing.

Full HD (1980) AF uses dual pixel tecnology, which is excellent

4K AF is not reliable. It uses contrast detection. And there is a 1.7x crop factor.

If you want to film at 4K,use Manual Focus.
