Taiko Drums
2

In August of this year, I got a chance to photograph some people playing Taiko drums. It was cloudy that day.

Photo No. 1 - The people playing these drums were near the columns seen in the back.

Photo No. 2 - First are a few photos from the Canon M50 MKII. Maybe i should have cropped this one a little for composition.

Photo No. 3 - Again....

Photo No. 4 - And again....

Photo No. 5 - Now switching back to the Canon T7i (800D) camera....

Photo No. 6 - I tried different angles.

Photo No. 7 - I hoped to capture the energy of the performance.

Photo No. 8 - They did very well.

Photo No. 9 - It was very entertaining.

Photo No. 10 - And my last one for the series.... I hoped you liked....

Re: Taiko Drums

Dig,

The grain in that wood is pretty nice. The violinist in picture# 7 took me by surprise.

Taiko Drums - Thanks

Thanks for the reply.  They played for a very long time, I think for more than a half hour.

Re: Taiko Drums

Hi Digirame,

Excellent set you've captured the mood of the Taiko players, I can almost hear them playing.

Taiko Drums - Thanks

Thanks. I also took video of them with the Canon M50 MKII and 55-200mm lens. Because I could use the EVF I could capture them with good composition. Also by turning on and shutting off the video with the big shutter button that really helped when using that camera too. That EF-M lens is more smooth also for me when zooming in and out.

Re: Closer to home.

I love the green scene.  That's so beautiful with the reflection.  That's a great one of the heron too.  Yes, how can that heron see the fish?  They must know something we don't know.  I've never seen that kind of fungi either...good capture!  The flowing water looks so peaceful.

Pretty Dresses
1

At the same location as the Taiko performers, I saw these pretty dresses on August 30th. i wasn't expecting this as I was there to visit the outdoor marketplace.  But as usual, I had my camera with me so I got these pictures. I hope you like these too.

My first set of photos were not that good, because my focal length was too long etc.  I wanted everything to be reasonably sharp including the background.  So I got closer to them and reduced the focal length.

Photo No. 1 - OK, we will start here with the shorter focal lengths from my lens.

Photo No. 2 - These girls are so beautiful.

Photo No. 3 - Because it was late in the day without sunlight, I had to use slower shutter speeds.  So here you might notice a little motion blur.

Photo No. 4 - Wow...what pretty dresses....

Photo No. 5 - Some more....

Photo No. 6 - And more....

Photo No. 7 - OK, we are almost done....

Photo No. 8 - Just a few more....

Photo No. 9 - Now they got ready to pose for more pictures.

Photo No. 10 - I took this before they were ready for posing.

Photo No. 11 - Again....

Photo No. 12 - And my last one....

Cooper Mountain

OK, it's time for me to show you all my Cooper Mountain hike pictures that I took in early September. From the pictures, you all can see how dry it is. But now we are finally getting some rain.

OK, what are you all waiting for?  Come on and join me.

Photo No. 1 - Starting at the parking lot this is what I saw.

Photo No. 2 - I also saw these beautiful lavender flowers that were begging for a photograph.

Photo No. 3 - OK, it's time for a walk south.

Photo No. 4 - Wow...I couldn't believe how dry it was.  We hadn't had rain for over two months.

Photo No. 5 - There was a few trees here.

Photo No. 6 - With the fork in the path, I went to the right side.

Photo No. 7 -  The path I chose was to take the longest loop of the trail.

Photo No. 8 - I saw some people looking at their hand-held devices.

Photo No. 9 - Oh, I had to take this picture of these people too.  I had thought about getting walking sticks, but I think I only would need them for rocky trails.

Photo No. 10 - Here's a pedestrian bridge that crosses a stream.

Photo No. 11 - Circling around on the trail, we see more dry brush.

Photo No. 12 - Now we enter a forested area as we near the parking lot.

Photo No. 13 - Here's this beautiful forest.

Photo No. 14 - OK, now we are back where we started from.  It was dry but fortunately that day we had cloudy weather.  I hope you all enjoyed the tour.

Help!   I'm stuck in a time warp!

This first picture was taken at 6:07 in the morning:

This second was taken at 5:17 in the evening of the same day:

Nothing in this dumb old town ever changes.

Hi Digirame, Thank You.

The weather for us has been good of late so plenty of walks and of course photos, the light can be great for photos at this time of year.

Mocha,

I like the way the light hits the leaf in this photo. It's like something out of a fantasy movie.

Pretty Dresses - Thanks

Thanks. Again, I wasn't expecting this. I think an owner of a dress shop was promoting this, but I'm not sure. I just happened to have my camera with me.
