Tickled pink
1

I received an 18-135mm IS USM lens today.

I've been wanting one for a long time.

It looks pretty good, I think. The colors are good and it seems pretty sharp.

Burning bush at 74mm

Looks great....   Yep, I put one on my camera and it hasn't left.  It's a good all purpose lens.

Re: Tickled pink

Her name is Foxie.

When we got her, my wife said that she is a Fox and a Princess.

I said, "She's a Princess, all right. I call her, Princess Puddles."

I wanted to experiment a little and take a picture in a setting I don't usually work with. I took this interior shot in aperture priority at the really wide aperture of f/4 from about 3 feet away at 27mm. Because the lighting was so dim, the camera slowed the shutter speed down to 1/10th and kicked the Auto ISO to the maximum I have set of 12800.

The colors are true with the green foot stool and the orange electric heater. I had to play with the Kelvin temperature a little to down around 3000.

It's fun pushing the limits on these cameras. I see you are still using your new lens too. That's great.

I would often take photos at even slower shutter speeds in near dark conditions, but I would either brace the camera on a tree or set it down on a flat surface. Try it and see what you get.

Dig,

I got this lens, mostly after seeing the pictures you have posted with yourT7i.

I figured my T8i would, more than likely, do a pretty good job too.

I also got it so I could shoot video in the 24-35mm range. Up to now, I've only had a 55-250 to work with. With the 1.6 crop factor for the APSC camera, plus the additional 1.6 in 4K, plus the additional magnification that Canon adds in video stabilization, the results were often "in your face".

This way, I can cover anywhere from 18-250, with more reasonable video to boot.
