Finally got hold of a 30mm f2. Any tips or considerations when using it?

I managed to secure a relatively cheap 30mm prime on the local auction site for about $100 to go with my $180 NX500 with kit 16-50mm. Not a bad investment all up. I see on various sites the NX500s appear to be going for silly money but I like mine as it is a fun camera and feels good.

I managed to get off a couple of handheld photos this evening before the light disappeared. I am happy with the lens as is appears to focus fairly accurately and is fairly sharp even wide open. My shaky hands mean I have to shoot in Tv (Shutter Priority) mode as the camera wanted to shoot at 1/30th sec but I needed 1/60th to get a consistently sharp image.

I would be keen to hear any tips for this lens. Below my first test snaps

Don't expect to use it with swiftly moving subjects and I think you'll enjoy it. It produces really nice images, just a little slow in focus while doing so.

Congratulations on your new lens.

It is an excellent lens but autofosus is very slow indeed, not unlike the Panasonic 20mm lens for Micro 4/3.

For street photography or casual family snapshots, I often use it in manual focus mode and aperture priority with aperture set to f/8 and focus to 2.5m.

Cheers!
