nobody wants to pack a helmet in their suitcase for travels, not when they can do better with a skinny little collapsable stick that can shoot better video!

It doesn't have to be an actual helmet, it can be a head strap.

....but with a head strap,.  you can't wear a hat.  (and your videos will still look worse).

and who wants to walk around as a tourist with a camera strapped to their head?  and outside of sports, when was the last time any of you saw such a thing?

you guys are kinda grasping on an inferior option.

Have you done so yourself? or even know anyone who has done so?
guessing the answer is “no but..”

and if so..perhaps there’s a pretty good reason

Wouldn't the guy get a stiff neck after 5 minutes?

-  that is not a tourist video,

-nor are there any long duration shots, it's an edit.

- nor does it hold a candle to the OPs example video.

There's a reason why in that example, the professional did not go with a helmet-cam.

The "guy" is me. No, I didn't get a stiff neck, I was perfectly fine just as I am when I wear my bike helmet for actual biking.

I wore the helmet with the camera running in time lapse mode for the entire 2 1-/2 hour duration of the 10km fun run. In fact, I wore it while biking from home to the run, while waiting for the run to start, during the run, and then while I biked back home again. What you see in the video are excerpts from the captured footage.

It was powered via USB cable to a power pack I carried in my pocket. I also carried a handheld camera for selfies and other shots.
