Willamette River Boating
1

Last summer I walked along the Willamette River, south of Portland, Oregon. During this nice summer day, I saw lots of boats.

Photo No. 1 - I first walked to a marina. It looked like a great place for photography.

Photo No. 2 - I just wasn't sure, but then two boats came on by.

Photo No. 3 - And another larger one....

Photo No. 4 - I walked further south and saw these viewing platforms. Some of them were private and others were public spots.

Photo No. 5 - This is what they looked like from another viewpoint.

Photo No 6 - There were lots of people on their paddleboards seen at this location.

Photo No. 7 - And again....

Photo No. 8 - Moving again further south to another location, there were dozens of these watercrafts filling the river.

Photo No. 9 - A lot of the launched them from this shoreline.

Photo No. 10 - I saw this pretty lady with small children.

Photo No. 11 - They circled around this big rock.

Photo No. 12 - And the kids got off to explore this large rock. What a beautiful day it was to go boating and exploring.  I hope you like seeing them.

Oregon State Fair Sky Ride

Last August I had a chance to visit the Oregon State Fair. What I like about this fair, is the FairLift. Other people might call them Sky Rides. Next time, I'll have to ride on one.

Here's some pictures of it that I hope you like.

Photo No. 1 - It was partially cloudy when I got to the fair, so the colors were not brilliant.

Photo No. 2 - The sky ride can be seen above and to the left.

Photo No. 3 - Ah, we finally got some sun.

Photo No. 4 -  It was neat to see the people overhead like that.

Photo No. 5 - And another one....

Photo No. 6 - I could zoom up a little.

Photo No. 7 - The people in the center....

Photo No. 8 - ....are the same people here with masks.

Photo No. 9 - I never knew what they planned to do with the dollar bill.

Photo No. 10 - Again....

Photo No. 11 - Some more people....

Photo No. 12 - And my final one....  I'm sure a lot of pictures were taken by those people up high with their cell phones.

Oregon State Fair Sky Ride - Thanks

Thanks.  It was so nice this summer.  I miss the warmth and dry weather already, but we need the rain too.  At the end of this week we are finally going to get some moisture.  It's been long overdue.

Hi Digirame,

Great action in the River set, love photo 8 showing the amount of people enjoying themselves and again in photo 9 everbody is rushing to join the fun

In the Oregon state fair pictures the 'sky ride' seems like great fun overlooking the rest of the fair also.

Super sets Digirame.

Thanks. Next time I need to take a ride on the Sky Ride to get that perspective of being up high.

Excellent!!! I like the red colors.  They seem so natural coming from the R7.

Re: Ferry Meadows revisited.

Nene Park looks like at great place for photography. It looks a lot like where I live. I see that autumn leaves have not changed much either. I like your fungi. You made me research cygnets (a baby swan). I hadn't heard of that before.  That's a great action photo of the heron.

Dig,

The first five shots in your Fair series, when the light wasn't so good, look very good in black and white.

Just as an experiment, try converting them. I think you'll be surprised at the results.

Oregon State Fair Sky Ride - Thanks

Thanks for the reply.  Yes, I could have changed them to B&W for the first two photos when the light was not that good. But I just don't like B&W. It's just me...I don't know why...maybe it's because of all the dreary "black and white" scenes we get here in Oregon during our rainy winter months. The rains are supposed to come back this Friday. We actually need the moisture, so I'm not going to complain...just bring my umbrella.

Re: Ferry Meadows revisited.

Beautiful photos as always mocha123.

I see you managed to find the typical example fungi, which I've never done. Well done!

I must admit before I read the caption for the heron I feared he might be a victim of bird flu.

Dig,

I can totally relate. I lived near Erie, PA for a while. They don't call it Dreary Erie for nothing.
