X-S10 sensor damage assesment
1

So I did the wet clean of the sensor with the appropriate equipment and "by the book" but one thing I didn't do is doing it gently. While swiping the sensor left to right with the swab I probably was pressing a bit to eager and pulled the sensor in the swab direction for a brief moment.

There was "turn off the camera" type of warning on the back, with the red ! icon, turned off and on the camera, stabilization seems to be working, as far as I can tell it's working as usual.

But just to be sure...could I've damaged the IBIS - or to make straightforward question - is it possible to damage the IBIS and have the camera working, without the IBIS? Or is it simply - camera works all is ok, damaged IBIS camera won't let you operate.

Let me know please I'm anxious

If everything's still working fine then I wouldn't worry. If there's any issue you will find out soon enough lol.

I think it is very unlikely you've damaged it.  It is a warning though about cleaning cameras, you should only do it when the images show it is needed as there is always a bit of risk, if only risk of worry.

Surely the camera should be turned-off before wiping the sensor? The sensor movement as described when cleaning alerted the camera the IBIS unit moving not as instructed by the camera. On some cameras IBIS unit activation audible; by listening next to your ear.

Not for Fuji IBIS cameras (I’m not sure on other brands). The camera needs to be on with IBIS activated to hold the sensor in place while cleaning.

Same with Sony: Cleaning function locks the sensor in place.

Don't forget the shutter must be open. This is not the case when a camera is switched off.
