DP Review Studio Scene: OM1 vs EM1III vs EP5

DxO Photolab 5 using Standard Profile and Deep Prime Noise Reduction.

For the first 9, the shadow was boosted +50.

For the last 4, the shadows were set to default 0.

Personally, I'd be more comfortable shooting at ISO 12800 on OM1 than ISO 6400 on older cameras, based on the fact that basically 100% of my photos are shared online. Loss of detail at higher ISOs won't be too distracting on most screens (most people have 1080p monitors or higher resolution tiny screens anyway, and most non-photographers barely even notice the details in the first place) , but patchy green and magenta color casts can be distracting even in lower resolution images on social media. YMMV. That was my biggest complaint about shooting high ISO on EM5III and the situation is much more improved in OM1. Great SOOC is a nice feature of OM1, but even when shooting raw, much better color retention at high ISO makes OM1's high ISO settings more usable compared to older models imho. Again, it's just my personal opinion. YMMV.

Hey, sometimes companies have made newer cameras which were not necessarily better in certain aspects, so...

If the OM5 gives this too in a smaller body, then I might be interested.

Many people have claimed that there's less than half stop difference with OM1 when shooting raw. This test was to show that, if your primary concern is keeping green/magenta color cast to acceptable levels, then there is 1~2 stop difference between EP5/EM1III and OM1 using DxO and deep prime noise reduction.  I believe this is quite useful information that many people are not aware of.
