one that got away, but what was it ?

I managed to a get a few shots of this perched awkwardly for me on a wall, but when I tried moving it somewhere scenic (and easier to shoot), it flew away, rather disappointing

DPP wouldn't stack them (it struggles with a hand held sequence) so I tried manually blending them

But what was it (uk) ? it was about 30-40 mm long

regards

Jim

It's a crane fly. What species, I know not.

Thanks Jack,

I thought that was a sufficient starter for id with google but the top results all seem to say there are between 92 and 300 species of crane fly / daddy long legs in the uk, and as for further id well...

I do see the similarity to a daddy long legs, but usually I see brown ones and haven't paid attention. i'll have a closer look next time
