Damselfly emergence
15

Some years ago, I was visiting a local lake when lots of damselfly larvae began emerging. There was a strip of water with no foliage for them to climb and so I pushed some small branches into the lake bottom (I was wearing waterproof boots). Larvae soon began climbing these sticks and even the legs of my tripod which I had set up in the water. Birds spotted this food source and a wagtail took the newly-hatched adult damselfly that I had been photographing.
