Re: EF-M 32mm on sale for $399

I finally caved.
My 32mm is now on order. When it arrives I will have all of the EF-M lenses except for the 55-200 and the 18-55, so I still won’t qualify as a member of the “All Canon EF-M lenses club,” but it’s as close as I will ever get.
I have been holding out on getting one for a long time now because:
- I didn’t want to spend the money.
- I was concerned over the future of EF-M, like many others here.
- I had been considering the possibility of “moving” to R in the future, so didn’t want to invest more in EF-M.
- I tend to use zooms much more than primes. My 11-22 is what I use most of the time.
But I finally gave in and got the 32 because:
- The price drop was significant. Every man has his price.
- Everyone raves about this lens. Hopefully I will, too.
- I’m trying hard to start using *all* of my EF-M lenses, to expand my knowledge and experience instead of (pardon the pun) focusing on just one lens, so adding the 50mm equivalent to my kit seems a good idea.
- And … I’ve decided against ever acquiring any R gear. I’ll keep my M system for as long as it works for me, and then probably succumb to smartphone photography as it continues to improve. I had the opportunity to get an R10 + kit lens for free a month ago as part of the Amazon Vine program, but decided against it because I just didn’t want to start going down the road on an even more expensive camera system, for money reasons and also because the capabilities of the M system still exceed my photographic skills.
So - I’m sticking with M, and looking forward to my new 32.
