EF-M 32mm on sale for $399

It’s listed for $399 on both Canon USA and B&H as of this morning.  Cheapest price I’ve ever seen for this lens.  Maybe I’ll finally weaken and get it?

Or maybe this is a bad sign for EF-M.

Actually a sale on many mirrorless lenses: RF and EF-M. (I didn't see included EF lenses, but I didn't look very hard.) So not a sign for the EF-M system either way.

That lens is the best deal on a lens in the Canon world ?

After my big Canon sale my M6II and 32mm may be all I keep !

Yeah-The 22 is $70 off also. I've seen it reduced to $200 before but not $180.

I don't know if it means anything for the M series, since most people already believe that Canon is phasing it out. Note that there are a number of R lenses on rebate too.

Definitely a great deal. I've owned the 32 pretty much since it came out, and still love shooting with it. There are some great Canon deals on lenses right now, but unfortunately for me, I already own the ones I'd otherwise jump on (EF-M 32, RF 35, RF 100-400).

I finally caved.

My 32mm is now on order.  When it arrives I will have all of the EF-M lenses except for the 55-200 and the 18-55, so I still won’t qualify as a member of the “All Canon EF-M lenses club,” but it’s as close as I will ever get.

I have been holding out on getting one for a long time now because:

  • I didn’t want to spend the money.
  • I was concerned over the future of EF-M, like many others here.
  • I had been considering the possibility of “moving” to R in the future, so didn’t want to invest more in EF-M.
  • I tend to use zooms much more than primes.  My 11-22 is what I use most of the time.

But I finally gave in and got the 32 because:

  • The price drop was significant.  Every man has his price.
  • Everyone raves about this lens.  Hopefully I will, too.
  • I’m trying hard to start using *all* of my EF-M lenses, to expand my knowledge and experience instead of (pardon the pun) focusing on just one lens, so adding the 50mm equivalent to my kit seems a good idea.
  • And … I’ve decided against ever acquiring any R gear.  I’ll keep my M system for as long as it works for me, and then probably succumb to smartphone photography as it continues to improve.  I had the opportunity to get an R10 + kit lens for free a month ago as part of the Amazon Vine program, but decided against it because I just didn’t want to start going down the road on an even more expensive camera system, for money reasons and also because the capabilities of the M system still exceed my photographic skills.

So - I’m sticking with M, and looking forward to my new 32.

I wish they'd do deals like that in the UK. It's £449 over here. The 32mm is the only one I haven't got.

This lens lives on my M6II.  Such a compact and versatile combo.  With superb IQ.

Exactly what I am doing. Sticking with the M to the point that I am collecting doubles of some lenses in the event one takes a dump at some time out of warranty. R is just not for me for several reasons I'm sure that no one is interested in reading. There is no "R" in my   FUTU_E.

Ordered one from B&H on Thursday and it should arrive next week. I’ve been waiting for a price drop and at $399 this is a great deal.
