On Camera Recording Monitor ---> Dumb Question

I'm sure this fits in the "dumb question" category but here goes. I often want to use the LCD on the back of my Z7II when composing landscape photos or when I am doing some portraiture at a local dance studio vs. looking through the viewfinder but the LCD on back of the Z is too small for my aging 74 year old eyes, even with glasses, and squinting through the viewfinder wears my eyes out after a while. I am wondering if an on camera recording monitor, such as the Atomos and others like it can be used for still photography or the portraiture - does it work exactly the same as the LCD only bigger or will it only work for moving subjects.

Thank you,

Ken

Re: On Camera Recording Monitor ---> Dumb Question

Even landscapes are moving. For stills you don't want to spend the money on an Atmos. Plenty of monitor only devices for a fraction of the price. Plus they'll be brighter than a Ninja. Important outdoors. But remember you'll also need at least one battery, a monitor mount and a cable. At the very least.

I can't remember if the Z7 does anything weird when you plug in the monitor but I'm fairly sure on my Z6 nothing stops stills shooting with the monitor plugged in.

Best to ask in the Z forum.
