Yes, an all in one is a good option. But, can't justify so much money for such a small sensor. Although, a GX3 might be a good option for under(barely) 400€ used.

I considered this too as tele reach addition to M.

It is ok, when you do not need fast frame rate. The Canon shoots only 1 image per second in RAW, but 7 in JPEG. For me this was the deal breaker.

The IQ of the G3X is ok but not as good as the Sony.

Also found a Panasonic TZ101 for 419€ also an option for travel. As I won't be travelling until next spring, have time to decide. Have you printed from the GX3? And how is it in low light? Thanks

There is another option which I would consider if I where starting anew:

R7 with 18-150 for summer trips (I have m6 mk II and 18-150, I consider R7 to be m6ii with LP-E6)

R6 with 15-35 for winter trips (I have 35 and 16 and EOS R, found myself switching between them so now I am planning on getting 15-35L)

Share LP-E6NH which lasts forever.

But, the price difference is huge.(Canon/Sony).  I could buy a used M4/3 slap on a 14-140 lens on and have a larger sensor and cheaper.

Optically, they're probably both gathering about the same amount of light at 250mm, the Canon marginally more. The G3X has a BSI sensor, potentially a bit lower noise than the TZ101. I didn't make any prints from my G3X but I'm sure they'll be fine.

Re: Canon M6, M50,Sony?

Thanks, I'll look into the GX3ii.  I'll continue doing research after getting one primary camera.  I know that the GX3 has longer reach, but the Panasonic TZ101, smaller.  First things first.

True, but not 24-600mm all-in-one. It is a nice range for almost everything.

4/3 sensor size is not much larger and also at 20 MP.

Good thing  though for the G3X is, that it shares EVF with EOS Ms, hence my original interest.

True, so will strongly consider one.  I believe there are two versions?  The original and ii?  Probably not much difference between them.  I'll do some research.--

Re: Canon M6, M50,Sony?

TZ200 is nice too, but has fixed screen. EVF is slightly smaller than Sony RX100VII and IQ slightly inferior. Would have kept mine for the range in small size, but AF performance, screen and size was deal breaker for me.

Re: Canon M6, M50,Sony?

I'm strongly considering a GX3, as it's an all in one, plus the long reach.  I'm not sure I'll ever be able to afford a long lens for a FF.  Plus, it't be so heavy.

Yes there was recently a version II introduced, because they couldn't get supplies for the original screen. No idea if it has positive or negative impact.

BTW, the TZ200 got me started in the 1" sensor league...
