Re: If you want to see some underwater pics

I go to Roatan partly for the ease of it all, and it's not expensive either. When I first started going there, it was a 2.5 hour ride to Houston, a short wait and another 2.5 hours to Roatan.
Roatan sure looks inviting, and its not too small to do something out of the water.
What locations are better for you?
Well, Guadeloupe would be easier to access since I am based in Switzerland. And it's mix of carbonate and volcanic island, interesting for me as a geologist.
I've seen TG5/TG6 shots that look wonderful that I can't get with my gear.
Yes, the microscope mode and the stacking feature are incredible. Plus you get the depth and water temperature in the exif.
The TG series fits in small wholes where I couldn't point my LX100II in its housing, and its very good for those occasions where it would be inconvenient to bring the larger gear. I always take it with me for swims, as I've quite often missed some photographic opportunities being without a camera.
I wonder what an ideal snorkel cam would be? Seems like a GoPro would be pretty good for that. Seems like one of the biggest needs there would be small size, but I don't snorkel.
No size for me would be no issue. I'd love to get a LX100II as a sealed version, zoom range and closeup capability is already quite nice. Of course the lens would need to protrude, but I wouldn't mind. Probably no doors, wireless charging and file transfer, 128 GB integrated memory. Integrated LED ring light and focus stacking as in TG series. Slightly positive buoyancy.
At least a cam with the sensor size of the XZ-2, for which I also got the housing.
Cheers
