Which is better for portrait? 45mm vs 60mm

I love using 85mm for portraits on my SonyA7ii. Recently, I find an offer at my local for NX45mm and NX60mm.

I heard that 45mm has faster focus, but 60mm is closer to 85mm on FF.

Which do you think is better for portraits?

Both? The 60mm is a little slow to focus which is less of a problem for macro since I manually focus those but might be a bigger deal for portraits. The 60mm is quite sharp while the 45 is sharp enough wide open and has a really lovely look to the images. The 45mm isn't a typical portrait focal length being equal to 67 in 35mm terms but Sigma released an excellent 65mm f/2 for full frame so maybe it's getting more acceptable. I like the 60 for portraits but just recently decided to use the 45 more. We'll see how it goes.

The "baby Leica" 45mm! When I was shooting weddings professionally, I had a second body with the 45mm always on for more "artistic" portraits.

One of the fastest focusing NX lenses also, good for kids's especially.

I found the focal length just perfect also..

Now in R7 land I use the 50mm RF for the same use, but the results are not even close..

I use NX as my second camera also. I shoot with Sony A7ii and 85mm + NX500 with 30mm (almost 50mm).

That's why thinking to get the NX60mm (eq 90mm) and i can swap 50mm on my sony A7ii....

60mm on APS-C is a great focal length for portrait work but the 45mm Samsung is better on almost every account than the 60mm (except for macro, of course). It's faster, sharper, much more compact, focus is more snappy and it exhibits less aberrations. The 60mm is stabilized but the 45mm is 1.5 stop faster, which helps a lot in low light.

I love to shoot with two NX 500 bodies, one with the 45mm and the other one with the 20mm. It's a very versatile combo which delivers high-quality pictures and takes very little space. The 20mm is great for landscapes, cityscapes and street photography, while the 45mm shines for portraits, shooting details, flowers or pets. And when 45mm is not long enough or doesn't focus close enough, the 28MPix sensor offers some leeway for cropping.

Cheers!
