Sony a6400 vs Fuji X-S10

Good afternoon everyone,

I am undecided when buying my next camera.

The models would be sony a6400 or fuji x-s10. The camera will be for a combined use, family, sports, landscapes etc, multipurpose in general.

The price of both is similar and I would like you to help me choose one of the two models.

The sony 6400 comes with the 18-135 lens

The fuji x-s10 comes with the 18-55 pack

From what I can read in various web posts, the Fuji practically outperforms the Sony except with autofocus, but apparently the Fuji has improved a lot. Bearing in mind that one of the photos I usually take is of airplanes, could this be a problem?

Thank you very much

If you can, try both cameras in the shop and take the one which handle better to you. Do you plan to buy more lenses in the future or stay with kit lens?

Why it should be a problem?

Thank you very much

I have an XS10 and an A6300.   I assume you mean airplane in flight?   In that case the A6400 will be better.   AF on the XS10 is okay for a lot of things.  But trying to pick out a plane against a blue sky, it hunts and is blurry and just hardly ever locks on.   My A6300 just snaps into focus.

The problem you’ll have taking photos of planes is the lens . The 18-135 has a better chance than 18-55 so you’ll need to look at lens prices and availability as well with more options available for the Sony .

It’s all about the zoom….

I currently shoot sony FF but i dont like the ergonomics.  The fujis are more fun to use, nicer to hold in the hand (though i havent handled X-S10)  Another advantage of the Sony is you can easily transition into full frame if you desire -- buy lenses that will work on future cameras such as the tamron 28-75mm F2.8 -- or Sigma 100-400mm FE mount.
