I'll Post Later

I'll post some pictures later, maybe today.  I got some already picked out, when I'm able to do it.  So you all keep showing all of those great photos.

Folsom Lake
2

When we were traveling in Northern California this summer, we visited Folsom Lake. I've never been there. I had heard that in previous years it was very dry, but this July they had enough water. I hope you enjoy seeing something different other than my usual Oregon pictures.

Photo No. 1 - I just loved seeing the blue sky and blue water.

Photo No. 2 - The lake level fluctuates so some of these trees have adapted to those conditions.

Photo No. 3 - People were having a lot of fun.

Photo No. 4 - I thought seeing this drying spot of water was neat.

Photo No. 5 - Here's another cove where people went swimming.

Photo No. 6 - These people hitched a ride onto this boat without a dock.

Photo No. 7 - Again....

Photo No. 8 - We see another spot of water.

Photo No. 9 - These rocks are granite.

Photo No. 10 - And there's more of these granitic rocks and sand.

Photo No. 11 - Ah, what a beautiful day it was...probably in the high 90's F.

Photo No. 12 - And last but not least we were reminded that this was a habitat for poisonous rattlesnakes, so I was being careful where I walked. I hope you liked this series.

Re: Low hanging kids :-)

Yep, they sure like to climb, even on places that were not designed for that.  I'm glad a lot of these playgrounds have sand or bark chips or other soft materials for them to fall on.

That's a neat parasol.  Is it some type of toad stool or mushroom?

Pendennis Castle, Cornwall.

Hi all,

2 Weeks ago I put up a castle overlooking the Fal estuary on the St. Mawes side, this week I went looking at the castle (its twin), over the water on the Falmouth side.

These two castles protected the estuary against invasion. (Aperture f/11 ~~ (SS): 1/160 ~~ ISO 125 ~~ EC: 0 ~~ PASM Mode: Aperture Priority ~~ Metering: Evaluative ~~ Focus Type: One Shot ~~ FL: 114mm ~~ Lens: Tamron SP 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di VC USD ~~ Camera ID: Canon EOS 7D Mark II).

Way in. (Aperture f/10 ~~ (SS): 1/60 ~~ ISO 100 ~~ EC: 0 ~~ PASM Mode: Aperture Priority ~~ Metering: Evaluative ~~ Focus Type: One Shot ~~ FL: 10mm ~~ Lens: Canon EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM ~~ Camera ID: Canon EOS 7D Mark II).

Some photos of the interior unfortunately repair work was being done to the other floors. (Aperture f/2.8 ~~ (SS): 1/40 ~~ ISO 640 ~~ EC: 0 ~~ PASM Mode: Aperture Priority ~~ Metering: Evaluative ~~ Focus Type: One Shot ~~ FL: 20mm ~~ Lens: Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8 EX DC OS HSM ~~ Camera ID: Canon EOS 7D Mark II).

You can see the wooden frames in this photo supporting the brickwork. (Aperture f/2.8 ~~ (SS): 1/40 ~~ ISO 1000 ~~ EC: 0 ~~ PASM Mode: Aperture Priority ~~ Metering: Evaluative ~~ Focus Type: One Shot ~~ FL: 20mm ~~ Lens: Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8 EX DC OS HSM ~~ Camera ID: Canon EOS 7D Mark II).

Cannon overlooking the estuary. (Aperture f/11 ~~ (SS): 1/160 ~~ ISO 100 ~~ EC: 0 ~~ PASM Mode: Aperture Priority ~~ Metering: Evaluative ~~ Focus Type: One Shot ~~ FL: 70mm ~~ Lens: Tamron SP 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di VC USD ~~ Camera ID: Canon EOS 7D Mark II).

Folsom Lake - Thanks

Thanks.  I was amazed that there was so much water.  That area is supposed to be enduring a drought.  Last year's autumn rains saved them some.

Re: Pendennis Castle, Cornwall.

How cool...what a nice set of photos from you.  I had to look at those photos multiple times.  What a neat tourist spot for anyone interested in history.  I like how solid everything is.  I suppose although anything made of wood has to be re-furbished at different intervals.

Re: Pendennis Castle, Cornwall.

Hi Digirame, Thank You.

Unfortunately we couldn't go downstairs due to the work, I'm presuming downstairs were the dungeons.

The castle seemingly was used up to the 2nd. World War. Below is one of the modern (World War 2) guns in the grounds of the castle.
