G5x ii vs G7x iii

I just got a g7 mark 3, and it's s nice little camera.  I was tempted to go for the G5 because of its EVF, but I see it take 2 steps to deploy.  After using the G7 for a bit, I see there's not really a 3D tracking option like my RX100 has.  With the Sony, I always leave it in tracking, and it sticks to whatever point I choose.

Unfortunately, I guess the Canon only does this with faces.  I like to keep the AF in servo mode, so what I've been doing is just touching on the screen where I want the focal point.  This works OK, but I'm wondering about the G5.  When looking through the EVF, is there a way to move the focal point around?  Was thinking of returning the G7 for the G5, but if I can't move the point around, I think I'm just going to stick with the G7.

On the G5X-II while using the EVF, I can move the focal point by moving a finger tip around on the blank LCD. I have mine set to limit this to the left side of the LCD to avoid accidental movement by my nose. It works pretty well for me.
