...that´s what it was - getting dark. The sun was going down and the shadows became longer and later on you had no shadows anymore.

This is a good thing in my opinion. I don't want a camera to see in the dark, I want it to faithfully recreate what my eyes are seeing. I keep seeing cameras (mostly on phones) that artificially lighten the scene, either by using some sort of hdr or some other way. To me it looks unnatural.

Thank you markyboy81.

Easy to go up with the ISO value or select another shutter speed, but that would have made them different pictures. The natural impression, the feeling of the late afternoon hours, the evening would have been gone - right ?

Wow, amazing shot!

I was the 'official's photographer for my friend's wedding, despite having no experience of wedding photography.  I took 2 NX1s with both s lenses and the bride and groom were happy with the results I think.  This one was taken with the 50-150mm and is my favourite of the day.

This candid picture is a 10 out of 10. You're friends will cherish this/their moment in time. Congratulations, very well done!

Agreed. I've just got back from Madeira and did my obligatory trip to the Nun's Valley. By mid-day half the valley is in blazing sunshine, the other half in deep shadow. That's how my eyes see it and that's how I want it recorded.

Would the image look 'better' if I PP it to bring out the highlights? Probably, but I didn't 'experience' it that way. I want my photo to replicate my visual experience with the minimum of fuss.

Some may recall from my previous posts that I'm a strictly SOOC JPG shooter and I'm more than happy with the results. I know many would disagree with this last point, but I find that adjusting setting on the camera give me enough control to record 'reasonably' well what my eyes detect.
