Re: Show Your Snaps...September 19, 2022

Neat.  I don't know if I have ever seen a dolphin.  If I had, I don't remember.  We have sand castle contests at the beach where I live in the summer.  I was too busy to attend one this year.

Re: Local Garden

It's nice to see some more flowers.  I see that you must have had some rain too.

Squirrel

Here's a squirrel I found in a park about six days ago. It stayed still enough for me to catch a sharp photo of it.  It was taken late in the day under the shadows of trees.  That's why I needed ISO3200.

Re: Squirrel

That's a very sharp and nicely composed (IMO) photo Dig.

Squirrel - Thanks

Thank you. I was able to hold the camera/lens steady for that one. Because of the darker conditions I had to keep the shutter speed relatively low. ISO3200 works well too.

Re: Cornwall and the Egrets

Hi Digirame, Thank You.

The Cornish coast has lot's of tiny villages spotted around its coastline so lots of places to visit.

The Egrets were divided between the estuary and the harbour, those in the harbour were closer to me hence I was able to zoom back on them.

Changing Sunset
2

I saw a sunset yesterday that I noticed changing from a orange-golden color to red. Here's three of them that I liked.  All of that happened within a few minutes.

Photo No. 1 - Orange-golden

Photo No. 2 - Red

Photo No. 3 - Dark Red

Re: Changing Sunset

Cool.

Sunsets change fast. Often I'll see a nice one, and by the time I've rushed out to get a pic it's much less impressive.

Changing Sunset - Thanks

Thanks.  Yes, sunsets can change in seconds.  I keep snapping away, looking for the best one.  It's not often apparent until after we see them on the computer.

Great shots.  It doesn’t look like those needed any processing.

Dig,

That's quite a shot at 600mm.

Good going.

Re: Very nice photos

That's a cute chipmunk.  That reminds of when I tried to get a photo like that of a similar rodent when I was at Mammoth, CA.  It climbed down its hole, so no luck that time.  I like the brown colors that they have.

Squirrel - Thanks

Thanks.  At slower shutter speeds at that focal length I have to be extra careful to keep the camera/lens steady (since I don't use a tripod).  As you know, we only often have a few precious moments to capture wildlife before they move on.

Thank you, I am very pleased with my purchase, I loved my 90D but it was love hate relationship . When it was on it was great but it was a bit of a struggle on fliers.
