Great vacation, walk about lens
2

I am very happy with this lens, its not the most awesome lens ever but its a good lens for my needs    It covers more range than a RF 70-200 + RF 24-105 when used with my RF 14-35.  Its not as sharp was my RF 70-200 f4 but its good enough and I am happy with it.  I dont like to carry a bunch of lens's for a walk about but 2 is great

I hear great things about this lens. But the show stopper for me is you have to use LR or DPP 4 to correct the crazy distortions on the wide end. I shoot RAW so in camera corrections does not apply in RAW.

I use Capture One Pro for most post and maybe Affinity Photo when I need Photoshop type of editing. Anyhow C1 doesn't support that lens.

Sorry to hear that, keep bugging them, maybe someday soon.

Re: Great vacation, walk about lens

Took the 24-240 on my last major vacation. Stayed on the body far more than any other lens. Very flexible and has very good corrected image quality over most of it's range, and the IS is a great benefit as well. DXO, Adobe, and Canon DPP lens profiles work great if you prefer working with RAW files.

I have posted this before. Optical Limits, on it’s review of the RF 24-70 f2.8 IS, state:

“On the more affordable side is the Canon RF 24-105mm f/4 USM L IS (right). For the vast number of photographers, it is actually the more sensible choice. Yes, it is a stop slower but it has, obviously, a range advantage and while the difference in price may give us the impression that it is optically inferior, this is not the case.”

To my mind, that’s a (huge) case in favor of the RF 24-105 f4 IS.
