14-35 with 24-240 :)
2

I have been using the RF 24-240 from release I really like it. For walks I take the RF 24-240 and RF 14-35 for a good coverage. I did use the EF 16-35 and RF 70-200 f4 L for a year or so but I found one problem On the walkabouts I found the WHITE was getting a lot attention from people I did not want attention from. Yes someone even ask to if he could take it home over night when the shock wore off I told not only NO but hell NO. I think he got the meaning

So now its the RF 14-35 and the RF 24-240 and yes I do like overlap with my lens's.  I use a Lens Flipper to carry the lens not on the body.  Fast and easy lens changes.

Not sure your point of this post but I agree about attracting attention you may not want with white lenses. But I enjoy using them when security is not a concern.

Did you miss the gap between 35 and 70 ?

EDIT: No sarcasm intended. Genuinely interested about this.

Yea I did miss it, that's why I keep looking  and found RF 24-240 + RF 14-35 that I am very happy with   I have had people ask if the overlap was a problem and no I like a bit of overlap.  It means fewer lens changes.

I too have a severe "Focal Length FOMO", I am thinking along the lines of

- R6 + RF 15-30 STM

- R10 + RF-S 18-150

The advantage of that is that

- R10 + 18-150 altogether is about the same weight as the RF 24-240 lens.

- R10 has the AF and speed of R6

- RF-S 18-150 has sufficient overlap with R6 + 15-30

- And the biggest advantage... I have camera with the lens ready to go instead of faffing about with changing lenses.

There are disadvantages too like different batteries, smaller sensor, narrower DR compared to R6 but for my use those are the things I can live with.

Also, having analysed some of my pictures and also the ones from my latest trip, I have data to show most of my relevant shots were within that 18mm to about 30mm (FF terms) by a significant margin compared to other focal lengths.

Just waiting on some reviews of the 15-30 STM and the RF-S 18-150. The IQ from R10 is probably a known (ie not very different from the 24mp M50 II)

Re: 14-35 with 24-240 :)

Just moving from Nikon to Canon and really would like to know which lens is sharper,

the 24-105 f4

or

the lens that you use, the

24-240"

I bought the RF 24-105 f4 L with the R6. I never did any type of comparison between the two but I sold the RF 24-105 about 2 months after I bough the RF 24-240 that I still have  and use.

Let me add this, the RF 24-240 is much sharper than I would ever expected a 10X zoom to be

OK let me add one more comment,  I have owned and used all 3 of the Canon 24-105 f4 L's the EF 24-105 f4, EF 24-105 f4 -2 and the RF 24-105 f4 and I still use the RF 24-240 over any of the 3

BUT if weight was critical I would take the RF 24-105 its a great lens.

The good thing about 70-200 is that usually you can keep bigger distance from the subject so you are less apparent. That is why I like mine f/2.8 II version for shooting events and people in general - when not observed their facial expressions are just natural.

Generally 105mm f/1.4 gets much more attention even being black .

Most reports say that the RF 24-105 f4 L is a sharper lens than the RF 24-240, plus the L lens is weather resistant. But the 24-240 is more versatile given its extra reach. I bought the 24-240 having used the EF 24-105 for many, many years. I am very happy with my purchase and have no regrets about my decision.  In my cast the 24-240 and RF 16mm f2.8 is my lightweight walk-around combination.
