ISS at 1200mm f/8

I had bad luck in an earlier try with IS turned on, so this time I turned IS off. This is hand-held.

Very cool.  I have not looked for it.  Is it moving too quickly, like Skylab used too, to use a tripod?

I'm guessing it moves about the same speed as Skylab. The altitudes are similar, and gravity is about the same. I did use a tripod the first time, but my tripod is not friendly with pointing straight up, and this time, the altitude was 81 degrees, so I didn't even try.

Victor

Did you use a red dot sight on the camera, or your eye to the viewfinder?

Did you have the focus pre - set at infinity and switched to manual?

Thank you,  Mark.

I tried one of those but found out I was more accurate by looking through the viewfinder. I use the rear to focus, and I did prefocus. This combination hunts quite a bit when what you're focusing on is essentially points of light. There should be a star-focus mode.
