General ? CPL and lens flare ?

This is just a general question.

Would a color polarizing filter help to reduce lens flare?

Or would it not have any effect at all?

No it wouldn't reduce lens flare because that is being produced within the lens elements, it could actually make things worse because of the possibilty of added flare from the filter itself.

If you need to reduce flare you can use a lens hood and a smaller aperture or even a better lens.
