One of the last EF-RF Speedbooster Adapters
1

Hi all

Just got my hands on a new Metabones EF-RF Speedbooster adapter. Following the Canon warning to third party manufacturers for RF mounts, these are now very hard to get hold of and soon will be impossible I suspect.

Absolutely delighted with it on my EOS R. The fitting with EF lenses and the optical quality is superb. I specifically wanted to use the EOS R for both stills and 4K, without the dreaded 1.7X 4K filming crop, and to keep the sensor size for stills. The crop practically vanishes for 4K filming. Going down in resolution to an R6 or spending a small fortune on an R5C wasn't an option (I also have a BMCC 6K Pro which I use when I need a "proper" cinema camera).

As an added bonus, you gain an extra F stop in 4K and the camera also automatically converts to a crop camera, with an added stop too, in stills mode, giving handy extra reach if needed.

The Canon equivalent is more expensive and apparently only works with the C70 cinema camera. It's a shame that the Metabones (& Viltriox) adapters are being hit with Canon's lawsuit, in my humble opinion!
