Some Roatan pics
5

Been a week now in Roatan diving with the Z9, 14-30 and 105s.  I've been shooting it the same way I did my D850, and it's basically the same experience.  A little edge here, a little loss there, but basically similar - for stills.  For video, the difference is large.  I haven't started video yet, but here are some stills.  These are just a few from 22 dives with the camera.

I love this one!  How'd the Z9/14-30 do on pure wide-angle shots?

Re: Some Roatan pics

The eel and the skate are both 14-30 shots.  Overall, all I can compare it to is my 16-35vr, and this lens is sharper.  Not a lot, but it is there, at least in the center.   No particular complaints about it, other than having to carry and ship a big dome port.  I wished the 16-35 went to 50 or so, and I wish the 14-30 had more range as well.  I haven't shot it enough or looked closely enough at the results to tell where any sweet spot might be in terms of aperture.  I'm mostly shooting around F9.

I just finished a week or so of shooting macro, and I swapped over to the wide angle again.  Would have had more pics from today, but something happened (I think camera misalignment) where the Fn4 button got stuck down the whole dive.   That had me trapped in the first My Menu entry, so I couldn't change anything that needed a menu dive.  Puzzled, but it worked fine for 2 weeks, so I'm thinking something slightly ajar.  Button is fine without camera.
