*** Mini Challenge #710 Small ***
2

My last MC was BIG, so I guess it's appropriate this one is small.

The idea is to photographically illustrate some representation of "small". It may be physically small, conceptually small or any other small you can think of. Macro photography would be great, but it doesn't have to be macro. It might be, for example, illustrating the idea of feeling very small when in very big surroundings. Or small critters, small objects, small ideas, small victories, small goals, small problems, small chances for success... even photos taken with small cameras!

A few examples will follow in a subsequent post.

This challenge will end on Sunday, September 11, 2022 at 9 pm US Central Time, with the option to extend a second week if (lack of) participation justifies.

So, to quote Steve Martin (from way too many years ago), "Let's get small!"

Challenge Rules:

The host gives you a topic and you post up to three images that fit. Remember, it's all about fun, sharing, and learning. Any picture you have taken in person is eligible, regardless of the time taken, camera, or post-processing used. The host chooses the winners and honorable mentions and posts those in a new thread. The host's decision is final. The winner of this challenge then hosts the next challenge, judges the winner of that one, and so on it goes. The winner of this challenge will have 48 hours to post the next challenge. If that doesn't happen, 2nd place will have 24 hours to do so, then it's up to 3rd place.

Submission Posting Guidelines:

Post each one of your three submissions in its own reply to this post. Give each post a unique Subject, please. It is best to embed an image in its post rather than linking to somewhere else. Feel free to post photos "for exhibition only" if you want to share more than three, or won't be available to host the next challenge. Try to preserve the EXIF please, so we can see which camera, lens, and settings were used.

Comment Posting Guidelines:

Feel free to post comments on the images or ask for comments. Don't hesitate to click on the green "Like" thumb on the top right of the post, so we know which images were most popular. Likes are appreciated as much as constructive criticism is. The host can make up his or her own mind without being influenced by that. I wish you all "good luck" and let's see some interesting pics.

Re: *** Mini Challenge #710 Small *** (examples)

This is a challenge, even for me as a non-participant, since I rarely shoot in "small" ways.

But, some examples...

Small little flower

Small but sharp-dressed little hummer

Small little building, with big bold color

Small tail, big everything-else!

Small droplets of dew

Small concern for actual usability* (see note below)

Small and fuzzy

Small little 'shroom on the forest floor

Small chance of catching a fish with this one...

* This was the "shower" in an overly-cute little boutique hotel. Trying to shower under it was like standing in intermittent rain. I unhooked the bucket and -- lo and behold -- there was an actual shower head on the ceiling! I re-hung the bucket when done. There were other examples of "cute over comfort" in the room as well. I made a mental note to never stay there again.

I didn’t think you’d be able to find the small campsite in the expanded photo, so I added the zoomed in view. Dispersed camp sites aren’t too hard to find in Canyonlands National Park, Utah. You just have to know where to look, and be careful where you camp.

They're almost cute when they're that small... almost. Still, keep your fingers away from the front end!

It's also surprising (at least was to me) how relatively loud they can be, especially when agitated.

As in, not too close to the edge! That could be a rude, and brief, awakening if too close.  LOL

And bring your own wood if you are planning on a camp fire.

Plant. Easter lily, IIRC. The drip is sappy stuff of some sort.

I have an apology to make.

Recently I haven't really been contributing to these mini-challenges... I'm currently in the process of changing my workflow and DAM.
