X100V Help! SS and ISO dials not matching up with in-camera settings

Hey everyone. Been using my X100V on holiday, handed it to my girlfriend and she's somehow changed some settings and doesn't know how. I can't figure out how to fix the issue lol so here I am.

I was shooting with SS and ISO on AUTO, and only controlling Aperture with the front dial - aperture priority is how I shoot most of the time.

She hands back the camera and now, even though the SS is on A, it's stuck at 1/2000SS. If I move the SS dial to 4000, the shutter speed goes to 1/250. One more click, down to 2000, gives me 1/15, and then some other ridiculously slow speeds until it's just bulb.

ISO is the same. A has me stuck at 250 ISO. 160 gives me 320, 200 gives me 400, etc.

Everything is weirdly off and nothing changes when on A like it should.

Have tried battery in/out, tried going to user settings and resetting both options .. I'm lost.

Anyone got any ideas? - also I have a video showing the problem, will share in a reply to this thread if I can get it working.
Thanks!

For some reason the camera appears to be stuck in shutter priority, despite all dials being on AUTO.

Does this help at all?

I'm sorry to learn this.  Backup your settings.  Do a reset to factory.  If this dose not clear the problem your camera will need a trip to Fuji service to replace the switch or top plate.  I hope it's still under warrantee.

Did you try setting everything to manual?

While trying this I've just realised that the dials work properly sometimes... only if I push down on the shutter speed dial very firmly.

Sooooo it's broken. Really frustrating.

Definitely sounds like a hardware issue, like something has slipped between the dial and the electrical contacts or other mechanism which detects the physical position - so they're out of alignment.  Unfortunately sounds like a trip to a service centre will be required.

Hardware failure

Also no explanation from my side at the moment other than hardware failure.

I would first do a complete reset and try again.

Having read the post and the replies so far, I wonder - did she exert inappropriate power on the dial, was the camera dropped, or exposed to rain or something else, or is this independent from user failure? How old is the camera, did you buy it new or second hand?

Regards,

Martin
