Mono Lake Part II
1

Here are some more photos of Mono Lake that I saw on my vacation last July. The first set was shown last week.  I hope you like these too. The mixed lighting and different focal lengths that I used made these interesting.

Photo No. 1 - Here the salt that looks like blocks of ice.

Photo No. 2 - Again....

Photo No. 3 - People walked to the edge.

Photo No. 4 - It's so treeless in this area.

Photo No. 5 - Another view of the distant mountains with no or little trees....

Photo No. 6 - I had enough light here that made this one of my favorites.

Photo No. 7 - Another one....

Photo No. 8 - More....

Photo No. 9 - The changing light made so many of these different.

Photo No. 10 - The grasses tolerated the salty soils.

Photo No. 11 - Another of my favorites....

Photo No. 12 - A little brighter....

Photo No. 13 - Back to the "blocks of ice"....

Photo No. 14 - Again.... Can you see the bird in front?

Photo No. 15 - This was similar to Photo No. 9.

Photo No. 16 - If a person wanted, they allowed us to walk off the main trail to see other parts of the lake. I didn't walk in this area, but I can see someone spending two or three hours exploring it.

Beautiful as always, I must not have an eye for shots like those my efforts never turn out well.

Today my new camera got rained on, but not for long thankfully but it did make some shots more difficult, luckily they cleared up right before I had to leave so I did get a better photo of the Osprey as he was perched. Juvenile by the way (Orange eyes)

Mono Lake Part II - Thanks

Thanks.  This was the second time I had been there.  This past July I spent more time.  It was interesting how the focal length changes had such an impact.

Most excellent!   My favorite is the second one.  Again, enjoy your new camera.  I don't know about you, but I still have a hard time adjusting to my mirrorless cameras compared to the DSLRs.  Is it hard for you too?  Or do you find the R7 an easy transition from when you used the 90D?

Re: Mono Lake Part II - Thanks

Maybe I can explain it this way.  When you are looking out at the lake and the focal length is changed, it dramatically changes the photo.  One might think it's all the same, other than being perceived as being smaller or larger, but it really changes that way that it's seen.  For example, go look at the second picture.  Now view the ninth picture.  Can  you find the large dark rock formation in both of them?  Do you see how different it is?

Mono Lake Part II - Thanks

Thanks. For the ninth photo, the lighting was brighter on the shoreline, making it look more like snow.

Mono Lake Part II - Thanks

Thanks.  I walked around there for probably an hour.  A person could stay there a lot longer and get many more cool photos.

Re: Visit to Cornwall....

Cornwall is such a lovely place; it's a photogenic area.  Bassy from the Kodak Forum used to show a lot of pictures from there.

Those old churches are always a delight to see.  Wow...that's a nice closeup of the sparrow at 300mm FL.

Cornwall is one of the few places I've been multiple times on holiday, and I can see why you visited.

Great photos.
