Shot with GX9 and Lumix 100-300 at dusk.
Took about 7 frames - one was sharp.
f/8, 1/50sec, ISO 200.
Processed with PureRaw, then Lightroom, exported JPG.

Sweet shot Mark, and now I'm jealous.  I briefly saw one a couple years ago - a dreary grey November day and no chance for a pic.  Anyway, well done.

Thanks Joe,
Yes this was hand-held.
BTW there is currently a discussion in another thread about the Lumix 100-400, which in my opinion is a fantastic lens (I have taken super-sharp images with it),
whereas in my opinion the 100-300 is a merely great lens.
The 100-300 is much lighter though, and so I am less reticent about carrying it around in my pack when hiking. It also requires less effort at stable hand-holding, the downside of course being less focal length and slightly less sharpness. Tradeoffs.

Thanks Ranlee,
I saw the cat and gently turned away, put the pack down and put on the big lens.
I used the used the upfacing-LCD on the GX9 so as to not look at the her/him and spook the cat away.

Thanks absoluutbeginner,
This picture is from the coast range of central California.
Great would be getting a picture of a mountain lion - much more challenging.
I have seen some, and very likely, many more have seen me.
I am thankful for wildlife.
