*** Mini Challenge #709 Eye of the Beholder ***
1

This weeks Challenge, Eye of the Beholder, will be about a photo you have taken, that might have meant something to you at the time, but later on, should you really have taken the time? Will anyone ever want to see these? I have more files in that category than I like to admit to, yet I still hang on to them, only I have seen them. Now that I’m over the hill and don’t get out much, about all I use now is my cell phone. Those photos are piling up also. I’ll let you use your imagination on what fits this Challenge. My examples will give you some ideas.

This challenge will end on Friday, September 2, 2022 at 9 pm Pacific Time.

Challenge Rules:

The host gives you a topic and you post up to three images that fit. Remember, it's all about fun, sharing, and learning. Any picture you have taken in person is eligible, regardless of the time taken, camera, or post-processing used. The host chooses the winners and honourable mentions and posts those in a new thread. The host's decision is final. The winner of this challenge then hosts the next challenge, judges the winner of that one, and so on it goes. The winner of this challenge will have 48 hours to post the next challenge. If that doesn't happen, 2nd place will have 24 hours to do so, then it's up to 3rd place.

Submission Posting Guidelines:

Post each one of your three submissions in its own reply to this post. Give each post a unique Subject, please. It is best to embed an image in its post rather than linking to somewhere else. Feel free to post photos "for exhibition only" if you want to share more than three, or won't be available to host the next challenge. Try to preserve the EXIF please, so we can see which camera, lens, and settings were used.

Comment Posting Guidelines:

Feel free to post comments on the images or ask for comments. Don't hesitate to click on the green "Like" thumb on the top right of the post, so we know which images were most popular. Likes are appreciated as much as constructive criticism is. The host can make up his or her own mind without being influenced by that. I wish you all "good luck" and let's see some interesting pics.

A couple of cycling-related shots, back when I actually did cycle (a bit) about five+ years ago.

Sometime's a man's gotta do what a man's ... no not really. I had just stopped for a rest and needed a place to stand my bike. I didn't use said facilities. That was part of my first (of only three ever) 50(+) mile rides.

This was seven years later. I stopped at this cemetery so they wouldn't have far to carry my body...  (that's what happens when one doesn't ride for years).

One of my "salad-as-a-meal" meals I made recently. Not sure why I shot it, but the ingredients included (to the best of my memory):

  • Spring salad mix
  • Bacon
  • Onions, diced ham, green olives and capers sauteed in the bacon drippings, with added Tiger sauce, Chipotle Tabasco sauce
  • Tortilla strip toppings
  • Parmesan, cubed Swiss and shredded Cheddar cheeses
  • Peanuts
  • "Tamed" jalapeno pepper slices
  • Creamy Caesar dressing with sweet and spicy Tabasco sauce mixed in

...and who knows what else I put in but forgot.

And just for fun (exhibition only)

"It's a box, right? I'm a cat, right? Well, I must fit, right??"

"No one will even see me"

"Yeah, so what? How would you feel if you had to wear this silly thing??"

"Look, it's 5:30 PM. That's dinner time. You're done here"

I’ve been out of town for several days and haven’t been paying too much attention to the challenge. Unfortunately, not much participation. 24 hours left for entries, let see if we can get a few more.
